It has always been very hard for me to get out of my brain and feel my somatic sensations and emotions. My work requires my brain to stay active all day long, making it impossible for me to stop thinking, relinquish control, and listen to my body.
In 2023 I attended a beginner's Shibari workshop. At that point, I knew that rope pointed towards a sense of true embodiment that I thought was unobtainable. I understood the potential of rope and wanted to have a session which catered for my needs specifically, so I sought for a private session with a professional rigger. Fortunately, I met Conor.
I had three private sessions with Conor over the course of four months. From the very first minute, I felt safe and comfortable, and I easily fell into a space of trust and communication. He is very good at bringing focus to your body and intentions, through continuous communication and checking in with you. He created a professional and nurturing space which allowed my thoughts to melt away.
I look forward to exploring the practice in greater depth and will definitely be back for more.

“II took 9 hours of tuition spread over three lessons with Conor at their gorgeous home studio. I had an incredible experience learning from him and gaining a deeper understanding of their approach to the practice. Previously, I had taken some informal Shibari classes in large groups, but as someone with dyslexia, I struggled to maintain and understand the material I was learning. When I explained this to Conor, he adjusted his teaching style to meet my personal needs. They were incredibly accommodating and happy to go over things repeatedly until I felt confident moving on and answered any questions eloquently and thoroughly. After the three lessons, I feel significantly more confident in my Shibari skills than I ever thought possible.
I will definitely be returning to have more lessons and have recommended him to everyone I know looking to take their shibari practice more seriously.

I wasn't certain what to expect, but I knew I wanted to find out if Shibari was for me. Before booking, I chatted with Conor on the phone. We talked about what I wanted from a session and any concerns I had. At all times, Conor wanted to really tune into me and meet me where I'm at, not just in terms of rope but in a "whole picture" kind of way. I'd initially assumed it was something I'd do once. Now I know I will be planning in more of this time for myself.
The session was intense, and beautiful and incredibly moving. I had such an amazing time. I felt so safe and so free, and most importantly, I felt heard. It was quite an overwhelming experience and gave me lots to consider. Things that had been below the surface for a long time, came up in the following days and weeks and changed course; I think I was more attentive to my mind and my desires and I honestly feel like this experience with Conor did more for me (at least short term so far) than some therapy I've slogged through.
Plus, obviously way more fun!
